The stitching extends to the rear to ensure that the side pieces are not going to peel or split while also adding strength. The latch features a real lock and key mechanism with a chrome non-tarnishable finish. The beautiful mottled leather finish ensures that fingerprints will not show up every time that this case is opened, while also being very easy to clean with just a damp cloth.

We have taken one of the finest chess boards available and given it an artistic touch, thus making it worthy of the Official Staunton name. Made of solid walnut and maple woods and then carved by skilled craftsmen, this is a truly one-of-a-kind chess board. The carved edges are burned, wire brushed and then finished with multiple coats of Deft brand satin wood finish. After all of this, the board is hand rubbed to attain an incredibly smooth satin finish.
